About Us

Skill development and understanding of new pedagogies is enforced at all three branches by  teaching students to use the latest technology available. The use of multimedia as a resource and reference base is actively encouraged at LGS Shah Jamal  from Playgroup to O’Level.

The following computer based programmes have also been introduced to make learning more interactive and enjoyable:

  • Pearson’s Bug Club

LGS Shah Jamal encourages independent learning for students from Playgroup to Class 5. Learners enjoy visiting their own personalized Bug Club homepage where they can read e-Books which offer a wide variety of interactive quizzes.
Bug Club hooks children into reading with a truly engaging interactive world alive with characters they know and love and a sophisticated reward system to keep them motivated. It is a whole school online programme backed up with all the support teachers need to get students motivated. Bug Club works on PC, laptop and iPad so students can continue to access material at home.

  • Scholastic Test

This is an online test which assesses student’s comprehension and reading fluency using the LEXILE® framework for Reading. Lexile measures are the most widely adopted reading measure in use today. All major standardized reading tests and many popular instructional reading programs report student reading scores in Lexile measures which are an open standard.
Since LGS teachers use computers and the Internet; they easily find materials that have already been measured and use them in class for advancing reading and comprehension skills.
At LGS Shah Jamal; students are encouraged to  access  computers and the internet in state of the art computer labs. Instructors are always available to assist students in  assessing reading and comprehension levels.

  • Planet Sherston

Planet Sherston transforms learning into a games-based experience that guides  pupils to achieve their goals. Through giving context to work and creating fun, Planet Sherston maximises students' retention of learning and motivates them to continue doing their best – even when learning is tough!
At LGS Shah Jamal, students from classes 3 – 6 attempt on-line quizzes using audio/visual aids for Social Studies.
